31 DOH Day #17 A Poe Altered Coaster with Smeared Ink

Welcome to Day #17 of 31 Days of Halloween! I hope you are enjoying the festivities! Thank you for all the wonderful comments! You can find the blog roll in my side bar. Your first stop on the hop is Terra, you should have come to me from Lyneen, and your next stop is Rebecca. Remember to comment on all the blogs on the hop for a chance to win at the end of the month and keep in mind the Scavenger Hunt for daily prizes!

Today is the 3rd of 5 Smeared Ink Friday's during this Halloween Hop! We have been challenged to use Smeared Ink stamps on each of the Friday's and so far I have done just that. Today I have used the 'Quoth The Raven' rubber set which I won last year I think during the Creepmas hop. I was looking for some tags in my stash and found a pack of chipboard 'Coasters/BeerMats' and figured, that will do! They look to be about 4x4" and a good thickness. I covered both sides in papers from MME Lost&Found Halloween pad. On the front I stamped the 'Quoth The Raven', 'Nevermore' and book quote stamps in black Archival ink and heat embossed with a black detail powder. I've then edged the mat in Black Soot DI.
The Raven on the front and collage stamp on the back were stamped onto white card. The raven is coloured using distress ink pads and glued into place. The collage was heat embossed and then the whiteness removed by covering in Vintage Photo DI. I rounded the corners before gluing onto the coaster edging this side in Vintage Photo and Black Soot. As a finishing touch, I used Triple Thick glaze applied with a brush round the edges of the coaster and dipped this into Black Soot Distress Glitter for sparkle!
Thanks for looking!
