Tsunami Rose Designs Challenge #25 Tic Tac Toe

Time again for my design team creation for this week's Tsunami Rose Designs Challenge!
This week is a Tic Tac Toe challenge again using papers and ephemera from the Polished Lackluster Printable Journal Kit - all the links you need for Tsunami Rose and where to buy from are below this post!

This week I have gone with another journal page and even added a photo this time - me and my best friend - with some journalling... wish my handwriting was better!!! I have used the horizontal centre line - Inked edges, buttons and something distressed.

I've added some other elements from the tic tac toe board - lace and ribbon and some Platinum Stickles to give a bit of texture on there too! A bit of bling and some platinum liquid peals have been added around the photo. Elements have been layered using 3D foam for texture too.

I hope you like this, pop on over to the Tsunami Rose blog and have a go at the challenge - you dont have to use TRD products but we'd love to see what you come up with!

Mo xxx Make sure you take advantage of the great offer in the Tsunami Rose Store.  With every $5 purchase, you will receive the FREE June Tag set.  These are great for those masculine cards or projects we all sometimes struggle to make.

Tsunami Rose Designs Challenge #24 - Sketch Challenge

Time for another challenge over at Tsunami Rose Designs Blog -  this week it's a sketch challenge and again we're using samples from the new Polished Lackluster printable journal kit. All the links you need for the TRD Shop and other chances to win are at the bottom of this post!

My card today i've used a black card base, A5 size and matted all the elements onto pearlescent red paper.

I made some rolled paper roses from the red pearlescent paper and the same in the black with matching organza ribbons. Lots of layering with 3d foam! I've got with simple for this card - i tend to get stuck with sketches, sticking rigidly to the design and really need to get thinking outside the box!!

Well, hopefully you'll like the card anyways! Why not join us over at Tsunami Rose, take a look at the sketch and see what you come up with - you dont have to use Tsunami Rose papers!!

I have used the beautiful samples from the journal kit and added black lace, beading and bling. Some mulberry paper roses finish the page.

Hope you like today's project - here are the links you need below!

Tsunami Rose Designs Challenge #21 - Theme Cards

Well, the sun has been out the last two days - it may be too much to ask for another day of sunshine but we live in hope! Here today is my DT project for this week's Tsunami Rose Designs Wednesday Challenge - #21 Cards. This month we are using printable ephemera samplers from TRD and this week had a love theme! hope you like it!

I have used burgandy papers from DoCrafts Gorjuss 12x12 Paper Pack and some black corrugated card for layering. All the black and white images and sentiments are from the TRD printable ephemera sampler.

I've added black lace, black beading and some black crochet lace to the card. The burgandy flowers kept their stems but were wrapped into a bouquet using black organza ribbon and a bow.

A couple of large black buttons finish the card.

Hope you like it! All your Tsunami Rose links are below - please

Tsunami Rose Designs Challenge #20 Tags, Tags, Tags!

It's Wednesday again!!! Here's my DT post for Tsunami Rose Designs.
This week's challenge is themed 'Tags, Tags, Tags!' and we are using Sampler sheets of Tsunami Rose Printable Ephemera which you can get for only $2 or as a free gift with your purchases this month from the TRD zibbet shop - all the links you need are at the bottom of this post - come and have a look at her beautiful papers, journal kits, sentiments and ephemera -stunning designs!!

Well, here is my project - I've gone with a card again... I think i've only ever done one tag on its own as a stand alone tag - this is something i might work on the next few months, making tag art.... I do have a Pinterest board with lots of tags and I know there's loads of inspiration out there. Anyway, i made a tag and popped it onto the front of a birthday card - and I even put another tag on the inside too!

I have used images from Tsunami Rose Designs along with a sentiment too - these can all be found on the ephemera samplers found in the shop on the links below. I have used some vintage seam binding on the tag and a white doily in behind it for another layer. Some lace and beading along the bottom of the tag for texture.

The background paper and paper flowers on the card are from Ephemera's Vintage Garden - these are printable papers found on the blog and they have a shop for even more beautiful printables.

The tag on the inside is using a sentiment from the same sampler pack and paper from the Tsunami Rose Damask Madame 6x6 paper pack and more sema binding.

Sorry for the quick post from me, some of the kids are still icky! Normal service should resume soon! I hope!

Black, White and Purple Sparkly Mother's Day Card!

Well, I have been so inspired by the printable ephemera and beautiful papers from Tsunami Rose Designs, that I have made another Mother's Day Card to submit as my entry for the current Wednesday Challenge over at the Tsunami Rose Blog. This week is Challenge #18 - Mother's Day and you will see the DT projects that I've already made for the challenge there as well as here on my blog too.

Today's card is sticking with a theme! I loved the black and purple card that I created as part of the DT and have vowed to make more with these colours - given that they are my favourites and very under used!

The card also uses stash from one of my other favourite craft suppliers - Craftwork Cards. I have used black and white chevron print paper from their new Black Magic GoodyBox and Card Candi in colourway 'Saville Row'.

I used the chevron paper with the Marianne Creatables Chinese Rose die to make the paper roses in the bottom left corner and added Star Dust stickles on the flower and tag and lavender stickles around the sentiment. The purple patterned ribbon was in the bottom of my ribbon box!

I've been having a look at all the new blog challenges out there for the start of May and would like to enter my card into a few of them as well as the Tsunami Rose Wednesday Challenge.

Creative Corner Challenges #17 - Flowers and/or Mother's Day
Desert Island Crafter's Challenge - May 1st Itinerary using 3 (Roses), 7 (Glitter it), 8 (B&W +Purple)

Bunny Zoe's Crafts - April - Favourite Colour Combo

Tsunami Rose Challenge 18 - Mother's Day Challenge

Well, I am reliably informed that it is Mother's Day in the USA on May 8th and as I'm part of the Design Team for Tsunami Rose Designs, based in Las Vegas, this week's DT project is for Mother's Day!

This month we are working with printable ephemera from Tsunami Rose which you can buy as a file and print as required, these are available here.

When Daisy sent me the file for this week's challenge... I was totally inspired and went a bit crazy and made TWO projects for this week!

My first card was a vintage inspired card using the central image and wording from Tsunami Rose. I used some background papers from the Shabby Vintage Goodybag over at Craftwork Cards and some ribbon and 3mm string beads.

The large flower here is made using the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die from Sizzix Alterations, and the spiral cut roses are using the Chinese Rose by Marianne Creatables. The paper used for both was from a 6x6" paper pad called Floral Fantasy by Louise Tiler - a recent free gift from Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine.

I used Worn Lipstick and Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pads also from Tim Holtz to distress/colour the flowers and the central image where i've also added someRanger Glossy Accents to the lady and the flowers. Opal White Liquid Pearls finish the edges of the card.

This next card is a far more modern take and very much my style - purple is my colour and i love this card!
I have used a chipboard dress form from Craftwork Cards along with purple card Candi. The B&W damask paper is from Victoria Park 6x6 paper pack by LilyBee Design.

The tag and wording are both printable ephemera from Tsunami Rose and i've added black organza ribbon and purple mulberry flowers to finish the card.... along with star dust stickles and Dusty Concord distress ink!

I hope you enjoy these designs, why not join us at the Tsunami Rose Blog for this week's challenge - there's no need to use TRD products but we love to see what you do with them!

All the links you need are below, see you soon!

Tsunami Rose Challenge 17: Color Challenge

I'm back!!! I'm over the flu, the family are all doing better and I've been crafting yesterday for the first time in about 3 weeks!!! Itchy fingers and raring to go! But, hubby has started a new job and I have a wedding to attend on Saturday so I might not get back to crafting for another few days!

Well, this project is my next Design Team project for Tsunami Rose Designs and it is for this week's Wednesday Challenge #17 - Colour Challenge. This uses papers from the 'Yesterday's Commodity' paper pack available here.

I have chosen one paper from the pack which goes rather well with a photo frame that I had painted with acrylic paint several weeks ago but hadn't done anything with! This was a charity shop find and cost me 50p - I bought the two that they had and you can see the other one here.

I started by using Mod Podge to adhere strips of the paper to the frame, coating both the frame and then the paper. I ran a black ink pad around the edges.

I then used Cosmic Shimmer acrylic glue to attach crushed black Card Candi from Craftwork Cards around the centre of the frame and then used Pin Flair 3D glue around the outer edge to attach some faux beading, also black.

The thing I love about the Tsunami Rose papers is that you can print as much as you like!! I printed off another two sheets of this paper and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die and Marianne Creatables Chinese Rose die.

I layered up the flowers, shaping them and again using the Cosmic Shimmer glue to stick the layers together. I also ran a black dye based ink pad over the edges in keeping with the frame. I think the Mod Podge on the frame has made the paper flowers look a slightly different colour but I feel it still works. Since taking these photos, I have ran the black ink over the top flower here which I seem to have missed!!

Here's a close up of the flowers. The paper has script and damask and old postcards on it, looks fabulous and really works with the other papers but for this project I decided to stick with the one paper to keep it monochrome.

I hope you like this frame! Why not join us over at Tsunami Rose Designs Wednesday Challenge - You do not have to use the TRD papers but we do love to see what you can do with them!

Tsunami Rose Designs Challenge #15 - Sketch Challenge

I have been so ill! I honestly cant remember the last time I felt this bad but the show must go on and here is my second DT Project for Tsunami Rose Designs! This week's challenge is a Sketch Challenge based on this sketch and using the Tsunami Rose 'Ephemeral Love Affair' paper pack available here.

I managed to finally get hold of a set of Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Sizzix Alterations dies and decided to try them out for this challenge using them on the beautiful pink distressed damask paper from this pack. I cut some hessian/burlap too and layered up the flower with a gem in the centre and a scalloped circle underneath.

It might be hard to believe, but in all my stash, I could not find a single butterfly!!! So, a smaller tattered flower was adhered at the bottom of the card too instead. I have stamped a sentiment directly onto the paper.

And to finish, some antique distressed seam binding ribbon in a double bow at the top. I ran some vintage photo distress ink round the edges of the flower layers just to give some added dimension as well.

Well, here's hoping I will be back to normal soon, I have so much to do including wedding invitations for my friend's impending nuptials - I really ought to get them done or that might be a very quiet day!

Why not join us for this week's Wednesday Challenge - there's no need to use Tsunami Rose Designs but we love to see what you do with them!

With Sympathy

Just a quick blog entry for me today, dealing with 4 kids and the Easter Holiday is playing havok with my crafty time! The sun is shining... bit chilly but there's a load of laundry on the line, the beds are stripped and I've got a chocka to do list for today! First on the list... my entry for this week's Tsunami Rose Designs Wednesday Challenge!

This week it is 'Anything Goes' and you do not have to use Tsunami Rose products!
As a member of the design team, this week we are working with the gorgeous 'Damask Madam' paper pack which you can buy here.

For my entry i've used two of the gorgeous papers - a harlequin print and a rose print. I've added some ivory lace ribbon, paper roses and a black organza double bow. I've also had my first try of adding beading to a project!!! I used my hot glue gun for this and will need more practice - its a bit wonky when you get close up, but on a mantlepeice it looks not half as bad!!!

I stamped the sentiment straight onto the paper and only chose this to help widen the scope of my stash - most of the time I use a Happy Birthday/Thinking of You generic type message, but I thought a Sympathy card would be good to have!

Here's all the info you need for Tsunami Rose and you still have some time to enter this week's challenge!

Tsunami Rose Challenge 14: Anything Goes

YAY!!!! The day is finally here! My first DT project for Tsunami Rose Designs! I am a new member of the Design Team for April and have stepped out of my comfort zone and harnessed my inner Goth for this first challenge project!

The papers are a sumptious pack called 'Damask Madam' and they are stunning - blacks and pinks with harlequin, damask and rose prints, with distressing and musical notes and just beautiful images! I love these papers and you can buy your very own set here!

So, what did I do for my first assignment? Well, here's how it started - strips of the gorgeous papers, a ribbon rosette and a satin ribbon bow!

The strips were mod podged onto a chipboard door hanger shape and left to dry, cut out and the edges painted with black acrylic paint. I used my hot glue gun to adhere the ribbons and rosette and the paper strip under the hole.

I found a fabulous vintage button in my mother's old button box which I attached to the rosette and added a couple of feathers under there for more dimension.

The metal heart shape has been stuck on the front of my box of embellishments for months and I knew I had to use it - it has wire and little pearls wrapped around it.

Some paper flowers and sticky sparkles finish off the hanger - as well as some Frosted Lace Stickles Glitter Glue around some of the painted edges.

I hope that you will come on over the Tsunami Rose Blog and have a go at entering this weeks Wednesday Challenge! The theme this week is anything goes and you DONT have to use the Tsunami Rose products in your project - although we do love to see what you can do with them!
