Left of Center Anniversary Challenge with The East Wind

Well, after my announcement yesterday that I have been asked to join the design team for The East Wind, I thought I would post another one today!
This card is using another of 'Lucy Loo' images that I just love from The East Wind - you can check out their Etsy shop to get your very own Lucy!
I have coloured the image using Promarkers and added Peacock Feathers Distress ink to the edge of the image to match the turquoise dress.
The papers are the Steampunk Spells papers from Graphic 45 - the colours just go so well! The Sentiments are chalkboard sentiments by Craftwork Cards coloured using the same Peacock Feathers DI.
My card will also be showcased on the Left of Center Creative Challenges blog today! There are just 3 days left to get your 'Anything Goes' entries in! I hope you can join in!
Thanks for looking!

Colours of the Sea Recipe Challenge at Crafting by Designs

I was sure this would be a tricky one this week! It's a themed recipe challenge over at Crafting by Designs and we are being sponsored by Lacy Sunshine. The theme is 'Colours of the Sea' and you have to follow the recipe.
Pick at least 3 elements from the list of 10 elements when following the theme:
1 - Mermaids
2 - Sand
3 - Coral
4 - Aqua/Water
5 - Orchid
6 - Foam/Lace
7 - Bubbles
8 - Scales/Sequins
9 - Sea Creatures
10 -Wild Card:  show your photo inspiration (Google or Pinterest)
Indicate which elements you used; interpretation is up to you!
So I used the Ebony Seakissed Mermaid and went a bit arty with my card! I have used Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Salty Ocean to create and ombre background and edged it in Peacock Feathers and Black Soot. I used a blending tool to apply Peacock Feathers through a circle stencil. The reeds are the Visible Image Tall Grass stamp. The seahorses and starfish are from Chocolate Baroque, stamped in Black Archival ink from Ranger and embossed with Stampendous Transparent detail embossing powder.

I then used a few small bottle tops in the black ink to add bubbles and used my white Uniball Signo pen to add highlights to them. The image is coloured using Promarkers and mounted on black pearlescent paper so it stands out from the background.
I had a lot of fun making the background for this card! Hoping to do more like this!
thanks for looking and I hope you will join our recipe challenge!

Bingo at Love to Create

This week at Love To Create we are playing Bingo! Eyes down for a full house! Pick a line from the board and create your card accordingly. We are sponsored by StampArt by Kathryne and you could win some images.
I have used the Image 'Jem' and the first vertical line on the board - Pink, Die Cut, Ribbon. My image is coloured with Promarkers. The frame is Fleur De Lis Frame from Spellbinders, and I've mounted this on a scalloped 6x6 card blank. The pink paper and ribbon are from my stash and sentiments from Craftwork Cards.
This week I have also finally got the hang of watermarking my work so this will be on my photos from now on - light enough that it doesn't detract from the image but it will be placed over my colouring to avoid unscrupulous persons! I hope you'll understand!

Favourite Books at Left of Center

It's midway reminder time at Left of Center! Our current challenge is 'Favourite Books' and is sponsored by Delicious Doodles! I have used 'The Raven' to create this wall hanging and I have used items from the 'Tic-Tac-Poe' board over at Quoth The Raven, Nevermore, so I will be entering this in their current challenge.
I printed the image and inked up a large acrylic block with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, spritzed the ink with water and pressed this directly on top of the image to give a mottled coloured background - the edges are inked with black soot. The 6x6 chipboard was painted with Tim Holtz Bronze Distress Paint, stamped round the edges with black archival ink and a TH stamp and then a bouquet of flowers added. The whole thing was then sprayed with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls mixed with water to give a pearly sheen (not that you would notice in this light!)

There are pins in the bouquet (Metal?!), paint and ribbon to hang the project - top line of the board. Or, it is 3D and has flowers along with the ribbon is a diagonal!
As well as joining in at QTR, I will be entering this at the current Delicious Doodles Challenge - Black plus one other colour - brown(s)!

Use a Ribbon at Crafting By Designs

Morning folks! I'm hosting this week's challenge at Crafting By Designs! The theme is 'Use a Ribbon' and we have been sponsored by Meljen's Designs.

You can also catch my card over at Left of Center - Join us for our 1st Anniversary Celebrations with a Mega Anything Goes Anniversary Challenge with 11 sponsors giving away fabulous images - including a chance to win more images from Meljen's Designs!

I have used the very cute 'Little Goth Girl' image, coloured her with promarkers, splattered the background and mounted her on black pearlescent paper. The foiled purple paper is Kaisercraft and the 8x8 paper is from the new Gorjuss range by DoCrafts. I've added a black organza ribbon and a chalk board sentiment from Craftwork Cards. The corner webs are Cheery Lyn dies and the 'Starburst' die cuts are new from Joanna Sheen - I picked this die up from Pink Frog Crafts at the SECC a few weeks back and it's my favourite die of the moment!
Thanks for looking!
Hope you can join us this week!

My Best Friend's Birthday!

So tonight I have made a card that will actually be posted and given to someone specific! It's my best friend's birthday on Tuesday so this will be in the post tomorrow in the hope that Royal Mail will actually get a first class letter to its destination in one day! I can dream, I know!

I have used an 'Ashley' digi image from The East Wind, one of my favourite digi companies just now! I have coloured her with Promarkers, and used lots of white card and black pearlescent paper for layering. The patterned paper is from Paper Cellar. The white paper ribbon is made using an X-Cut border punch. The sentiment stamp is the freebie from April's Craft Stamper magazine and has been done in clear Versamark with white detail embossing powder. The card is finished with some Platinum Stickles and white Card Candy.

And, I have even finished the inside of the card! I have layered up the papers and added another border strip. I've left a white square in the matching area of the sentiment for my message.
I hope Nicola likes it! I will be entering this on Facebook at The East Wind's group challenge - just in the nick of time!

Things with Wings at Crafting By Designs!

Oh I was excited to see the title of this challenge! I immediately knew I wanted Bats! Yes, Bats, the flying things, with wings! Sami Stamps are sponsoring us this week at Crafting By Designs and I have used the 'Web Veil' image for my card - admittedly I chose the image before seeing the theme but I think it works perfectly! Have gone Goth/Halloweeny for this make and dug out some dies!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted her onto black pearlescent paper. The designer papers are from The Little Yellow Bicycle. The Spider and large Web are Spellbinders dies, cut from black card and embossed - the spider has some titanium gilding wax on his body. The book paper is cut with an X-Cut Parenthesis Rectangle Die. The bats are Memory Box and the Graveyard is a Tim Holtx On The Edge die.
I really look forward to seeing how you interpret our theme this week!

Anything Goes Challenge at Love to Create!

Love to Create are having an Anything Goes challenge this week and we're being sponsored by the fabulous A Day For Daisies! I had a ball playing with the 'Pretty Witch' image that I used and had a go a new (to me!) technique! I had been watching the chap from Visible Image stamps on the crafty tv channel the other week and he inked up and spritzed his acrylic block and stamped that onto card - he then stamped an image on top of this background. I thought I would have a go!

I used Dusty Concord Distress ink on my acrylic block, spritzed with water and then put it directly onto the card that my image was already printed onto. I further coloured the edges with some Black Soot DI too. The image then was coloured roughly with some Cool Grey promarkers - in quite a scribbly way to match the image I feel. This was layered up on some black and purple pearlescent papers.

The background papers are from the Fancy Pants Oct 31 paper pad and I've added some die cut numbers from the Tim Holtz Bigz Die 'Boo & 31'. The web corner is Cheery Lynn and the Bats are Memory Box dies. I've used my Wink of Stella brush again on the bats and the witches scarf around her hat.
I will be entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge at A Day for Daisies, and the Second Challenge 'Use a Digi' at The East Wind.
I hope you like this card today and that you will join us in our Anything Goes Challenge this week!
Remember too that you can link up to the Left of Center Anything Goes challenge 5 times this month for a chance to win some more fabulous digi prizes!

Fairy Tales Gone Bad!

Ok, I dont normally double up my DT projects but this is a special one!
Firstly - It's time for a new challenge at PunkyouGirl! This is a dark themed challenge, so nothing girly and frilly and frou frou! The theme this month is 'Fairy Tales Gone Bad'! I'm not sure if Alice in Wonderland counts as a fairy tale but I have taken the iconic Alice image and used Ike's Art's version and turned her into a deadly, murdering, zombie type creature! I've die cut her with some purple dp from Kaisercraft, popped her onto a 3.5" x2.5" purple card to create an ATC. I coloured her with Promarkers and then I blew really hard across the thick end of a crimson promarker to create an airbrush blood splatter effect over the image! This is finished with some black pearls, a handwritten sentiment. It's also my effort for the new ATC swap over at the Ike's Art Facebook Fan Page if you want to join in!
And secondly, we have an Anything Goes Anniversary Celebration Challenge starting today at Left of Center - this is over and above our current Die Cuts challenge - and you are welcome to enter both with the same creation! Have a look at the rules page and check out our fabulous sponsors including the awesome Ike's Art!

Die Cuts Challenge at Left of Center and Anniversary Announcement!

The current challenge at Left of Center has another week to run and the theme is Die Cuts! We have two fabulous sponsors - Ike's Art and The Stamping Chef. I have used 'Sexy Steampunk' from Ike's Art and created a tag! This serves dual purpose! I signed up for a 'Tag Swap' at Ike's Art and so this will be sent to my swappee!

I embossed a kraft tag with a Tim Holtz Texture Fades cog folder and used Dusty Concord and Black Soot distress inks to highlight the texture. The image is coloured with promarkers and fussy cut. My die cuts are all cut from black and purple pearlescent paper - these are a large Tim Holtz cog, XCut small cogs and some Marianne Creatables chinese roses. I've layered these up, added purple and stardust Stickles in places, a black organza ribbon and a couple of black head pins.
I really hope you like it and you can join our Die Cuts challenge!

We also have some fabulous news over at LOC today - It is our first anniversary and we are celebrating with a huge 'Anything Goes' Anniversary Challenge!! We have 11 sponsors on board with fab digi prizes to be won so why not enter your die cut creations there too!

March Anything Goes Challenge at Crafting by Designs

Time for another Anything Goes Challenge at Crafting by Designs! This month we are sponsored by A Day for Daisies, The Doodle Garden and Beccy's Place. I have enjoyed working with 'To Spot A Fairy' from A Day for Daisies. I have coloured her with promarkers and added 'Cotton Candy' and 'Star Dust' Stickles on the wings and toadstools.

The papers are from Echo Park Oct 31 6x6 paper pad and matted onto purple pearlescent paper. The flowers and from my stash and sentiment from Craftwork Cards. The doily was white from a pack I found in Poundland and I sprayed with 'Fully Purple' Tattered Angels Mica spray.

Thanks for looking, I hope you will join us this month for Anything Goes!

1 Ribbon
2 Paper

And we have a fabulous sponsor in the shape of Sassy Studio Designs. I had the joy of working with the 'Jack and Sally Honey' image and have gone with black and orange tones for a Halloweeny feel - never too early for Halloween! My papers are from Pebbles 'Thirty One' paper pad and I have followed a sketch from the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog for my inspiration. My image is coloured with Promarkers and the papers mounted on black card. I've finished it with a black organza ribbon and some sticky black pearls.
I hope you can join our challenge this week.

Lucy Loo at The East Wind

So... a few weeks ago I discovered a new (to me!) digi company and may have purchased 'several' of their images although I reserve the right to not confirm any numbers!!! I discovered 'The East Wind' through Crafting Vicky and her 500 Followers Blog Candy - turns out she is on their Design Team and when I saw her cards, I knew I had to have those images! Get yourself over to Unky's Etsy Shop to purchase a few images and then join us on The East Wind Facebook Group Page to share your makes!
https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/theeastwind?ref=l2-shopheader-name

I coloured up some images almost right away and I'm sorry to say it's taken until today to get one of them onto a card! This image reminds me of Friday and Saturday nights as an 18-20 year old in rock clubs in Glasgow - not that I ever wore anything quite like this, but many did!!! This image is one of the 'Lucy Loo' range of images called 'Sexy Girl with her own Style'. I coloured her with Promarkers and mounted her on black card - this is a small A6 size card. The papers are all from the Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells 6x6 paper pad and I've finished this with some black sticky pearls.
I have used the current sketch at Your Next Stamp Challenge and will be entering the card in that challenge.
The East Wind also have a challenge blog and I will be entering my card in their current challenge - Use A Digi. I will also be entering at Card Makin Mamas - Stack it Up Challenge - this is at least 5 layers!

Well, thanks for looking and I hope to see you at The East Wind!
