Oh I was glued to the TV this past weekend! And nothing to do with the winter Olympics - I was freezing just looking at the slalom Skiing a few days ago, and my daughter insisted on watching Dancing on Ice the other night - shivering with the cold! No, I was watching the fabulous Julie Hickey on Create & Craft here in the UK on tv demonstrating a new kit for Craftwork Cards. Lots of lovely inspiration projects from their design team and the only problem I had was a lack of cash to spend! So, to remedy that, I got out an older paper kit from Craftwork Cards and made a wall hanging to show you today for Crafting By Designs.
We have a new challenge starting today and we'd love to see your spring colours! I have used an image from Lia Stampz of a Muffin with two cute little mice! I dug out the Craftwork Cards 'Sweet Pea' in Pink paper pad from last year and coloured my image in pinks and lilac promarkers to match the papers. I decided on an 8x8 wall hanging - this was some A4 chipboard packaging that I cut down to match the size of the papers! I made up some of the matching Sweet Pea paper flowers and cut a sheet of the paper into 4 smaller 4x4inch squares. Julie had demonstrated a fabulous flower at the weekend and I had a go! This is the big flower you see on the bottom left.
The background paper is embossed with different patterns on each coloured square - I used an emery board to distress these, revealing the white core of the heavy paper. I added some of the small flowers from the kit, some paper ribbons from the first paper ribbon pad from Craftwork Cards and a sentiment from one of the newer sets. Matching 'Sweet Pea' candi finishes the flowers and corners - some coated with stardust Stickles, and others with glossy accents. There's also some Worn Lipstick distress ink around the edges and on the large flower, more glitter and some liquid pearls on the sentiment!
Phew! That took a bit of time, haven't had a chance to sit and just enjoy something so detailed for a while - hubby had the kids occupied so I got a bit of me time!
I hope you like it, I hope you can join us in our challenge this week!

Anything Goes at Love to Create!
I have loved this week's challenge at Love to Create! We have been sponsored by The Stamping Chef and I had the immense pleasure of colouring up Tamara's 'Demented Beauty'! I coloured her in Turquoise and Burnt Orange shades of Promarkers and fussy cut her out. I have used the Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells 6x6 Paper Pad finished with black Card Candi and organza ribbon. The mat is cut using a Sizzix nesting die and edged with black ink.
I have used a sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and will be entering my card in their challenge this week too. I'll also enter at The Stamping Chef Challenge Blog! It's Anything Goes and I hope they like it!

Sparkle with Bling at Love to Create
The theme at Love to Create this week is 'Make it Sparkle with Bling' and we have two sponsors on board this week with some fabulous goodies!! I had the pleasure of working with 'Zombie Beauty' from Sami Stamps and some very yummy black flourishes from 'Flourish With a Bling'. Of course, I had to go Halloween with the zombie and coloured her in purple and grey promarkers and set up the card with lots of die cuts! I have used Floral Ovals and Graveyard Scene from Spellbinders, the branches are a Tim Holtz 'On the Edge' die and there are some tiny Memory Box bats on there too. The sentiment is from Pebbles and the ribbons from my stash.

Bloody Valentine Blog Hop with Smeared and Smudged Day 3
Welcome to the third and final day of the Bloody Valentine Blog Hop arranged by Smeared and Smudged.
My third project is quite a Clean and Simple card. I bought this fabulous image from Delicious Doodles after seeing it on a card by Wendy and thinking it was a great image, and it totally is! I printed it larger than I expected, coloured it with various red Promarkers, some green, browns and black for the blood and blood pool! I used a dark red 6x6 card base and stamped it randomly with the Visible Image 'Ripped Fishnets' background stamp and used a black inkpad on the edges of the card and the stamped image.
And then, nothing looked right on the card with it! I played about with some bits and for most of the day, the image has sat on the background and looked great as it was. And so I left it as it was - of course, as fate would have it, I glued the image on squinty!!
Now, If you are hopping the next stop is Fiona. If you have joined me randomly, why not jump back to the start and see what else is on offer! Here's the blog roll -

Bloody Valentine Blog Hop with Smeared and Smudged Day 2
Welcome to Day 2 of the Bloody Valentine Blog Hop arranged by Smeared and Smudged. This is a three day hop, so there'll be another post from me tomorrow! If you are looking for my Crafting By Designs DT Post you'll have to keep scrolling down!
Today I have made a tag. It started life as a light blue colour so that had to be changed! I used Evergreen Bough and Fired Brick distress ink pads and put a bit of colour onto a craft mat, this was spritzed with water and the tag passed through it. I then did the very same with the image and sentiment. This little guy is a Smeared Ink Grumpie with his matching sentiment - I think from the Occasions Grumpies set. I coloured the hearts with a Crimson Promarker and then added some Xmas Red Stickles.
The edges of both the tag and the image are blacked with a black ink pad. The squared stamping on the tag is a Tim Holtz stamp and the tag is finished with some red raffia and black organza.
I am linking my card up to the brand new Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers first challenge - Anti-Valentine!

Anything Goes with Love at Crafting By Designs
Love is in the air at Crafting by Designs this week and the theme for our challenge is 'Anything Goes...with Love!' Our sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps, have let us play with some images to inspire you. I have used a triple heart image and coloured it with pink and red promarkers.
The pink polkadot paper and sentiment are from Craftwork Cards. I've die cut a white panel using an X-Cut Parenthesis Rectangle and wrapped some bakers twine around it. I'm not sure it's very clear but there is Cotton Candy Stickles on the pink heart and the spots on the red ones as well as around the sentiment.
The sentiment says With Love so not necessarily a Valentine's Card but definitely a bit of romance in those hearts. Why not show us some Love with your creations this week.

Bloody Valentine Blog Hop with Smeared and Smudged Day 1
Morning everyone! Today, I am taking part in the Smeared and Smudged Bloody Valentine Blog Hop! I have two cards to show you today. The first uses an image called La Rosa Muerta from Delicious Doodles. I have coloured it in shades of purple, grey and black Promarkers and layered it up on Aubergine coloured card and Kaisercraft 13th Hour papers. I've embellished the card with a Cheery Lynn corner die and Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Flourish.
I am linking my card up to the brand new Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers first challenge - Anti-Valentine!
The next card I've made is using an image from Eiglas called Demon Lover and I've kept this one simple. I've used a DL sized card on its side, covered it in black pearlescent paper and used the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch to edge some red card. I've stamped this with a 'love' stamp from my stash and the word 'Demon' is made using Craftwork Cards alphabet stamps. I've coloured the image using promarkers, you cant see his fangs very well in my photo, but hopefully the blood dripping down his chin gives you an idea!

Red And/Or Pink Colour Challenge at Love to Create
This week at Love to Create we are working with one of my favourite designers - Daisy from Tsunami Rose Designs! If you've been with me for a while you will know that I was on her design team for several months last year and I was thrilled to hear she was sponsoring a challenge on Love to Create. We have been using the Parisian Daydream Journal Kit and I have used a couple of papers, tag and envelope from the kit.
I have teamed this with black card as I think it makes the papers pop. I have added some paper lace trim using an X-Cut border punch, some paper flowers, flourishes cut with a Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers die, and some Poundland Bling!
Thanks for looking, I hope you can join the colour challenge this week!

Hearts and Harelquins for February at PunkyouGirl
Another wee post from me today! It's the start of a new challenge at PunkyouGirl and the theme for February is 'Hearts and Harlequins'. This month we are sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps and I have chosen the 'Emo Valentine Fairy' by Teresa Sherman of Delicious Doodles to work with.
We are low on team members just now for various reasons so I've created two inspiration cards for this post.... I did cheat a bit though! Being short on time, I coloured the image with promarkers and coated it in Triple Thick to give a glossy finish - its my favourite thing just now!! And rather than adhere permanently to one card, I used a couple of tiny foam pads (Candi Fix from Craftwork Cards) and I was able to peel the image off and try it out on my second card! I'm sure I'll do another image for the other card when I have the time!
So my first card uses a white with silver foiling card blank from Kanban that I dug out my stash and covered with Fired Brick and Black Soot distress ink using a foam blending tool. I added black pearlescent paper behind the aperture and more Triple Thick to the blackened heart from the centre. I have finally gotten hold of the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch which forms the border along the top and I've hand written the sentiment.
For my second card, I have a black 6x6 card with red and black core-dinations. The black square is embossed using a Tim Holtz valentine embossing folder and the red is embossed with the Sizzix Swiss Dots folder. I've wrapped some red raffia (left over from Christmas!) around the card with a large bow and added the image.
I am entering this card into this week's challenge at Delicious Doodles - Love (good or bad!) also -
Cute Card Thursday - Lots of Love
Crafty Sentiments Designs - Love is in the air
Little Red Wagon - #223 Love
Nutcrafters - #61 A Little Bit of Love
Paper Pretties - Wednesday Challenge Valentine/Love
Stampin Royalty Challenge - #213 All About Love
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge - #257 Red/Love

Cute Vs Creepy at Left of Center
We have a new challenge for you at Left of Center this morning featuring images by our sponsor - Meljen's Designs. The theme this week is Cute Vs Creepy and some of the team have created fabulous cute/creepy combos - why not pop on over and see what we have for you!
I'm afraid I have just stuck with creepy; although the cat is kinda cute.... if you forget it's a zombie cat called Nibbles! I have coloured him as usual with my trusty Promarkers and mounted him on black pearlescent paper. The card is built up with layers of designer papers from the Pebbles '31' paper pad which is very much a Halloween themed pad! I have embellished with some Spellbinders dies - the tombstone and graveyard scene along the bottom are part of a set and the large spiderweb that I have cut down in the top left corner is a separate die.
I will be entering this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Girls Challenges - #11 Anything Goes
Delightful Challenges - Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps and More - #81 Anything Goes
Inklings and Yarns - Inky Linky 43 Anything Goes
Rhedd and Rosie's Challenge - #25Anything Goes
I hope you like my tongue in cheek creepy card today, I hope you'll pop over to LOC for a look and try your luck at a prize!

Anything Goes February Challenge at Crafting by Designs
We had over 400 entries for the January Anything Goes Challenge at Crafting by Designs and I can only imagine that we will have just as many this month too! The new Anything Goes challenge starts today and I have used an image from The Stamping Boutique, one of the challenge sponsors.
I have coloured the cupcake image using my trusty Promarkers and layered it up with Correspondence papers from Craftwork Cards and white card. I have used an X-Cute lace trim punch along the edge of one paper and added Cotton Candy and Gold stickles on the image and around the card edge. The letter bunting is a set of alphabet stamps from Craftwork Cards stamped on the matching paper with gold ink and heat embossed with Gold Heat It Up powder. The sentiment is also Craftwork Cards.
I have created this for my daughter's friend, it's her 5th birthday today and I think I will add a gold embossed '5' before we give it to her! Hope she has a great day!
I hope you will join us this month for a chance to win from several sponsors, why not pop over to Crafting by Designs and see what the rest of the team have to inspire you!

Love at Just For Fun Challenges
Well, it's February! And Love is in the air at Just For Fun challenges so this month is all about the 'L' word. Whether it's Valentine's, anniversary or just a general 'love you' type card, come and join us! Here is my example for your inspiration.
I have used the Craftwork Cards Correspondence collection for my card. I have used a 6x6 card base, covered it with a paper and then a second one on top which has been cut along the center from the right hand side, then rolled back to reveal the papers underneath. I used the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die to create a large flower - this was edged with 'Vintage Photo' Distress Ink and Platinum Stickles. The edge of the card also has platinum stickles with some diamantes. I've finished the card with some sentiments and tag from the kit with some crinkle ribbon.
With the bits I had left over, I created this ATC for a swap I was involved with in January and now that the recipient has it, I can show you!
I look forward to seeing your 'Love'ly creations for our challenge!

Guest Designer Spotlight at Cuttin' and Stampin'
Hi, just a quick post from me today to say, pop on over to Cuttin' and Stampin' today to see what I've created for them as a guest designer!
I was given some papers and elements from the Teresa Collins You Are My Happy collection and I've gone with CAS designs - not at all like me but I felt I had to show the products without embellishing too much!
I have also added a couple of Paper Smooches stamped sentiments.
Here are the three cards you can see on the Cuttin' and Stampin' blog today!
Thanks for looking! Please pop over and leave some love for the team at Cuttin' and Stampin'!

'Love' Challenge at Craft Mojo
Morning folks, February already and we're thinking about love and romance on many of the challenge blogs this month. Due to increasing commitments this will be my last post for Craft Mojo's challenges and the theme this month is 'Anything Love'.
My card this month features papers from the Craftwork Cards Vintage Boho paper pack. I have layered up the papers, distressing one and edging the others with 'Worn Lipstick' Distress Ink using a Ranger Ink Blending Tool. The 'love' is a stamp I found in my stash and the pink dots are Candi, also from Craftwork Cards.
The flower embellishment is a new technique that I have learned in January! I have decided that I should learn something new every month or so to try and prevent my getting bored! I was scouring YouTube for videos on how to use Alcohol Inks which i recently procured and found a fabulous video by Enfys Cashmore - who, incidentally, is on the Craftwork Cards DT - and thought I would give it a go! Here's a link to the video!
Basically, I got some plumbers aluminium tape, adhered it so scrap card stock, die cut this using Tim Holtz Sizzix Tattered Florals die, embossed the flowers to give texture and then used Red and Eggplant Adirondack Alcohol inks to colour the metal effect flowers. These were layered up, some free hand leaves drawn, embossed and coloured with Meadow ink and all attached to the card! Simples!
Thanks for joining me today, I hope you will feel the love and create something for the challenge this month.
