Hi folks! A wee project from me today that's NOT for a design team commitment! I had a pyjama day yesterday and decided to get crafty. I had bought this Ikea wall art from my local Cancer Research UK shop for £1 knowing that I could make it much prettier!
I dug out my Craftwork Cards Velvet Plum collection and matching clear stamps, a selection of Visible Image stamps and an assortment of ink pads.
Get ready for lots of pictures! I took apart the bits in the frame, pasted some papers onto the background and covered the internal frame with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. Over this DI base, I used some Pearlescent Lavender Brilliance Ink pad with the Visible Image Crackle Background stamp.
I then stamped the main VI sentiment on white die cut card using the same Dusty Concord DI mounting it in the center panel with lots of Velvet Plum die cut and layered flowers. I've used matching candi for the middle of sme of them and added Pruple Liquid Pearls on the paper.
I created some large flowers by stamping various CWC stamps and layering them together. I also put together four of the double bows and layered them too. I have added interest to the left and right panel by adding random stamping of the VI 'Bronte Border' stamp in Dusty Concord.
The glass has been removed as it allows the 3D elements to stand proud from the display. And this now has pride of place in my front hall and even got a thumbs up from the hubby! I am in two minds about leaving the frame alone or coating it with Gesso before painting with Dusty Concord Distress Paint... all thoughts welcome!
