Smeared and Smudged May Member Blog Hop

I was getting back on track, getting organised, was ahead with my work so I thought, hey, why not sign up for the Smeared and Smudged member blog hop, ATC swap and Fatpage swap for May... So I did. And I didn't write it in my to do list. Therefore, I've combined the whole lot into one post for the Blog Hop - my swappees don't know who they are so it will still be a surprise when they arrive! I hope!
The Blog hop theme is Anything Goes so my projects work, which is great! The theme for the Fatpage Swap is 'Horror' and at the moment I am watching Grimm - binge watching on Netflix is my favourite thing!! This image on the front of my Fatpage is from Smeared Ink and i've used Distress Inks and blending tool to colour her. I've gone with a watery background - the Sheena Douglas swirls reminding me of seaweed and the pebbles on the floor of the ocean are Inkylicious stamps. The sentiment is from HOTP. This iamge reminds me of the 'La Llarona' episode of Grimm where the woman with long flowing hair steals children and eventually drowns herself!
The reverse side of my page is 'Walking Dead' inspired!! The image is Smeared Ink with the Barbed wire stamp from Visible Image reminding me of the prison yard in the show! She's a bit cuter than TWD zombies, but hey ho. The sentiment is also VI and I've used a Webster's Pages DP for background. The embossing is a Tim Holtz folder with DI blended onto it.
The theme for the ATC swap was Halloween and I signed up for two. I've used 'Crafty Stamps' images and the sentiments and banner are from My Mind's Eye. Again the background is Distress Inks. I've finished with Diamond Black stickles on the web and spider body.

Here is the blog roll for the hop, please start back with Black Dragon or if you're following the roll, your next stop is Jane

Anything Goes in January at Crafting By Designs

Welcome to the first Crafting By Designs challenge of 2015! As per last year, the first of the month is 'Anything Goes' and I have used an image from Smeared Ink, one of this month's generous sponsors. This is the 'About Time Pocket Watch' and I chose it as I love it but really didn't know what I was going to do with it. However, you know that way when a song gets stuck in your head... well, everytime I looked at the image all I heard were lyrics from Smashing Pumpkins 'Tonight' in my head! So I figured I'd make an Art Journal page with the lyrics and the image! This is a smaller 6x6 page.
My background uses several dylusions sprays, I've stamped across with black Archival ink using a Visible Image barbed wire stamp. The stars were stencilled on using a Dutch Doobadoo Mask and Black Soot DI, highlighted with white Uniball Signo Pigment ink pen. Around the edges, I coloured with black promarker and wrote the lyrics with the Uniball pen.
The image itself is coloured using Rusty Hinge and Crushed Olive DI applied with a blending tool I've used the white pen again to highlight parts of the image too.

I will enter this at Smudgy Antics January Challenge.

Cant wait to see what you come up with for this challenge!

Welcome to the 12 Days of Creepmas! This is a blog hop run by the girls at Smeared Ink and you will find the Blog Roll on my side bar for the duration of the hop. Today is the Final Day, Day 12! I cannot believe how quickly this month has flown  by! I hope you will enjoy my final project for you today - it's an ATC. I have used the Skully Santa image by Teri Sherman available at the Smeared Ink shop. I've coloure him with Promarkers and various shades of Stickles Glitter Glue. 12 Days of Creepmas Day 10 With LOC, Smeared Ink and Delicious Darkness

Welcome to the 12 Days of Creepmas! This is a blog hop run by the girls at Smeared Ink and you will find the Blog Roll on my side bar for the duration of the hop. If you have just arrived at me and want to see what it's all about visit Terra (the hostess) at More Smeared Ink and follow the rules to be in with a chance to win! If you are hopping, you should have arrived here from Black Dragon  and Teresa is your next stop!

We have a bumper challenge for you starting today at Left Of Center! To give the girls some time off, we are running this one over two full weeks starting now and we have two sponsors for you!
First up we are paying homage to Delicious Doodles who will be closing their shop doors for the last time on December 31st and we wish Teri all the very best for the future. I have used the Evil Snowman image to create my card. The dp is very old Craftwork Cards, the corner is a memory box die and I've used a sentiment from Create with TLC to finish.
I will enter this card in the Final Hurrah Challenge at Delicious Darkness.

Our next sponsor is Smeared Ink... and purely by coincidence - some of the fabulously dark themed images from Delicious Doodles and Delicious Darkness will continue to be available on Smeared Ink! So we are celebrating that too!
I have created two cards - variations on a theme - which use the Smeared Ink image 'Watchful Eye'. I have coloured with Promarkers and black pencil. The DP on both cards is from Teresa Collins and I've used another sentiment from Create with TLC. The cards are finished with come candi.
I will enter my Watchful Eye cards in the Challenge #1 at Smudgy Antics.

Thanks for looking and I hope you'll have a fabulous Christmas and join in our challenge!

31 DOH Day #31 - Halloween!! With LOC and Smeared Ink

Happy Halloween!!! Welcome to Day #31 of 31 Days of Halloween! Thank you for all the wonderful comments! You can find the blog roll in my side bar. Your first stop on the hop is Terra, you should have come to me from Lyneen, and your next stop is Rebecca. Remember to comment on all the blogs on the hop for a chance to win at the end of the month and keep in mind the Scavenger Hunt for daily prizes!

I hope you have all had a fabulous month whether blogging, hopping or lurking! I am so glad I took the plunge and blogged this year, already looking forward to 2015! Enjoy the final day folks! It's Halloween, it's Friday, it's Smeared Ink day and it's new challenge at LOC day too!! The theme at LOC is Vintage Halloween.
I have used the Hallocutie Zombie Girl for my card, she's coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut. My papers are from MME Lost & Found Halloween 6x6 paper pad and I've used lots of Vintage Photo and Black Soot DI for the edges. The sentiment is from Create with TLC. I've kept the card in those brown tones and distressed some edges for the 'vintage' bit of the challenge - but remember, at LOC, Halloween/Dark Theme is always OK if you dont 'do' vintage!

Enjoy the rest of your Halloween! Here are my youngest - Darth and Sonic - on their way to the nursery party!
Why not check out the LOC DT Call too - we're looking for several new DT and I am thrilled that some of the 31DOH Wicked bloggers have linked up! Click here for more info.

This image is the 'Dead Dancer Falling' from Smeared Ink and I just love her! Like a puppet on strings... reminds me of an episode of last season's Criminal Minds! Anyway, she's coloured using Promarkers and mounted on purple and black card. The checked DP is from Nikki Sivil's 'Boo-tiful' papers and the purple metallic candi is from Craftwork Cards. The damask background is a Dreamweaver Stencil with Amethyst Sparkle Medium from Imagination Crafts on a piece of their black glossy card. I was lucky enough to win the Dreamweaver prize package on the first week of the 31 DOH through the Scavenger Hunt and just LOVE the stencils!!
I will enter this into the following challenges:

Your first stop on the hop is Terra, you should have come to me from Lyneen, and your next stop is Rebecca. Today is Friday and we have been challenged to use an image from Smeared Ink for every Friday during the hop - one more left after today... the Halloween Friday!
This project is a 4x4 Chunky Page. I have used a Toxic Ballerina image from Smeared Ink, coloured with promarkers and fussy cut. I think she looks like she's flying here - very much off balance anyway! The teal DP is Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells and I've made many tiny rolled roses cut from the cameo. A quick and simple project...if it did take ages to do the flowers! The punched hole allows this to hang on a binding ring with the others I've made this month.

31 DOH Day #22 and A Step in the Dark News

Welcome to Day #22 of 31 Days of Halloween! I hope are enjoying the hop!

Today would be the start of a new challenge at A Step in the Dark sponsored by Ike's Art and Smeared Ink, however, with life being as it is, the decision has been made by the management to temporarily close the challenge, hopefully we will return in the new year.
For my project today, I have used the pre-coloured 'Face-Off' image from Ike's Art for this first card. My DP is from Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells and An Eerie Tale. I have used the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch for the top and bottom borders and the viewfinder is a file by Sarah Hurley at the Silhouette Store. I have finished with a sentiment from Create with TLC and some candi.

31 DOH Day #17 A Poe Altered Coaster with Smeared Ink

Welcome to Day #17 of 31 Days of Halloween! I hope you are enjoying the festivities!

Today is the 3rd of 5 Smeared Ink Friday's during this Halloween Hop! We have been challenged to use Smeared Ink stamps on each of the Friday's and so far I have done just that. Today I have used the 'Quoth The Raven' rubber set which I won last year I think during the Creepmas hop. I was looking for some tags in my stash and found a pack of chipboard 'Coasters/BeerMats' and figured, that will do! They look to be about 4x4" and a good thickness. I covered both sides in papers from MME Lost&Found Halloween pad. On the front I stamped the 'Quoth The Raven', 'Nevermore' and book quote stamps in black Archival ink and heat embossed with a black detail powder. I've then edged the mat in Black Soot DI.
The Raven on the front and collage stamp on the back were stamped onto white card. The raven is coloured using distress ink pads and glued into place. The collage was heat embossed and then the whiteness removed by covering in Vintage Photo DI. I rounded the corners before gluing onto the coaster edging this side in Vintage Photo and Black Soot. As a finishing touch, I used Triple Thick glaze applied with a brush round the edges of the coaster and dipped this into Black Soot Distress Glitter for sparkle!

Today is Friday and we have been challenged within the 31DOH to create using images from Smeared Ink on a Friday so here is my project. I have used this creepy cute bunny (he was a past freebie on the Smeared and Smudged Challenger forums) and I have coloured him with Promarkers. This project is the front of the Fat Page that I showed on Day #1. Again I have used the Graphic 45 An Eerie Tale papers and a sentiment from Create with TLC. 'Raven' Mad with Poe

I have joined the 'Halloween' club at Create with TLC and am getting the most fabulous emails everyday this week with awesome October/Halloween images and sentiments and loving it! When I saw this one, I knew I had to use it right away! So, I popped over to the Quoth the Raven, Nevermore Challenge blog, got a look at their Tic, Tac, Poe board and made a card for their challenge.

I have used the middle horizontal line - black, Poe, Raven - and the middle vertical line - Ribbon, Poe, Flowers. I used the sentiment from Create with TLC and printed onto an orange DP from the Oct 31st pad from Fancy Pants designs. I then used stamps from the Smeared Ink 'Quoth the Raven' set to stamp a background on another paper from that pack and then the large Poe image on the same orange paper.
The rolled roses and spiderweb border were cut on the Cameo, the pumpkin is a Spellbinders die and the lacey ribbon is from my stash. It has been great making a card just for a challenge - it doesn't happen often!

I will also enter this card in the following challenges -
Quoth the Raven - #36 Tic, Tac, Poe
7 Kids College Fund - AG with twist Dies
The Male Room - Autumn/Fall
The Artistic Stamper - September Autumn Colours

Dog Days of Summer at Crafting By Designs

Morning folks, here's hoping its still sunny wherever you are and you're enjoying the end of the summer. The kids are back to school here and I'm enjoying a few hours with the youngest every morning before he starts nursery in October. Today we have a new challenge at Crafting by Designs - 'Dog Days of Summer' - and the sponsor is one of my favourites, Smeared Ink.
I have coloured the Calaveras Sugar Skull 3 with Promarkers and kept it very colourful instead of my usual Smeared Ink dark halloweeny themed cards! The papers and flowers are from Craftwork Cards and the sentiment is from Ginger's House.

A Step in the Dark Challenge #8

We have the fabulous Smeared Ink joining us again this fortnight at A Step in the Dark, a dark themed challenge! And the dark theme for this challenge is - Anything Goes!! We know you love AG themes and we love to see your dark unrestricted projects! If you saw my last post for A Step in the Dark you'll remember that I used 'The First Keeper' from Smeared Ink - today I'm using 'The Second Keeper'.
I have used my Promarkers as always to colour this image and added some Black Soot DI around the edges. The papers are from An Eerie Tale by Graphic 45. I've finished with a bow and some card candi.

Smudgefest 2014 - Synonymous Sunday

Wow! I cant believe it's the end of Smudgefest for 2014! I am thrilled to say that I was picked as a random winner a few days ago and I am looking forward to getting some very funky Smeared Ink Red Rubber!
This is my last post for this event this week and it's using the Smeared Ink 'Mary, Mary' image which was provided for the challenge. A difficult one for me, given that I've not coloured at all since my surgery so my colouring is strained and not to my usual standard!

I have used paper and elements from Graphic 45's new 'An Eerie Tale collection' and the Tim Holtz on the edge die 'Twigs'. I felt that the 'Fairy Tale' type papers went well with the nursery rhyme image - with that dark twist - and added a few lines! The colouring has done in my hand so I am ready for bed, putting it together to make a card has been a struggle!!

But, I have signed up for the 31 Days of Halloween Smeared Ink event in October and am looking forward to sharing Halloween/Day of the Dead creations all month - here's hoping my hand gets healed quick and I can get started!

This image is also the 'freaky freebie' for the Smeared and Smudged Forum challenges this month so I'll be linking up there too.

Smudgefest 2014 - Saturday Splatter

Today is Day 6 of Smudgefest and it's Saturday Splatter! They want us to get messy!! Now, messy house I can do, messy desk I can do... but messy creations... not sure!
I was totally inspired by Teresa Morgan's Day 3 entry - she made a 'chunky page' which I've not seen before but I thought I would like to try one. This is a 4x4" piece of art and I've just used some black card.
I have used the Monster Heart 'Phlem' again from Smeared Ink and coloured him red this time. The stamping is from the Clarity Letterbox Set and the punch along the bottom is Martha Stewart Drippy Goo.
Now for the messy bit! The background started off as white card. There was a tutorial in a recent Craft Stamper magazine for faux gelli-printing. By using acrylic paints on plastic - such as the A plate from the Cuttlebug which is what I used! I got the kids to help and we all pulled some colourful prints. I cut mine down to just under 4x4" to mount on the black and finished it by stamping the Visible Image Ripped Fishnets stamp in Black Archival ink.
