12 Days of Creepmas Day 1 with PunkYouGirl

Good Morning December! Cannot believe how fast the year has flown by and here we are now on the first of December and time for the 12 Days of Creepmas! This is a bloghop run by the girls at Smeared Ink and I will taking part this year. Check out the Blog Roll which will be on the right side bar for the duration of the hop. If you have just arrived at me and want to see what it's all about visit Terra (the hostess) at More Smeared Ink and follow the rules you could win some prizes! If you are hopping, Teresa is next!

My first post today for the First Day of Creepmas is also my post for PunkyouGirl. We are sponsored this month by Stitchy Bear Stamps and I've used the 'Scary Clown' image by Ike's Art available in the Stitchy Store.
I have made a 4x4" Chunky Page to add to my collection and used holographic red card for the base. I've coloured my clown with Promarkers, popped a Santa hat on him from The Octopode Factory. The sentiment is from Create with TLC and some card candi finishes off the page.

November Challenge at PunkyouGirl - POE!

New month, new challenge at PunkyouGirl. This month we are sponsored by Ike's Art and the theme is Anything Poes! That is - we want you to create something with an Edgar Allan Poe theme or Dark Themed Anything Goes. Remembering that PYG is a dark crafting blog so we hope you will stick to that - nothing cutesy!
I have used the image 'Poe Raven' printed him quite large and fussy cut. I have also used the freebie Poe Paper from Ike's Art and coloured it with Distress Stain in Fired Brick - adding some splodges too. The wording is from the Quoth the Raven rubber set at Smeared Ink].

Skeletons and Secrets at PunkyouGirl

The PunkyouGirl challenge for July is 'Skeletons and Secrets' and I am here today with my midway project for the challenge! I have used an image from Rick St Dennis which you can find in his Zibbet Shop here! The image is called 'Smilin Joe Skull with Roses' and I have coloured him with Promarkers.

I created the background for the card using background stamps from the Smeared Ink 'Quoth the Raven' set, these were stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder. I then covered the card with Fired Brick, Faded Jeans, Vintage Photo and Black Soot distress inks creating a resist effect with the stamps.
I have added two Spellbinders die cut spiders. The top border is the 'Twigs' On the Edge die and the bottom border is the 'Graveyard' On the Edge die both from Tim Holtz for Sizzix. The card is finished with a black ribbon.

We have a fabulous challenge going on at PunkyouGirl this month! 'Things With Wings' is the theme and Delicious Doodles/Delicious Darkness are the sponsors!

I have used Teri's amazing 'Ivy Fairy' image, there's fabulous detail and shading on here so I didn't add too much colour. I've added Ice Greys to the wings, lilac and lavendar to her hair, blush and some darker tones for the skin and some fabulous greens for the foliage - all in Promarkers. I've distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distressing tool and added Black Soot DI around the edges. Fairy Tales Gone Bad!

Ok, I dont normally double up my DT projects but this is a special one!
Firstly - It's time for a new challenge at PunkyouGirl! This is a dark themed challenge, so nothing girly and frilly and frou frou! The theme this month is 'Fairy Tales Gone Bad'! I'm not sure if Alice in Wonderland counts as a fairy tale but I have taken the iconic Alice image and used Ike's Art's version and turned her into a deadly, murdering, zombie type creature! I've die cut her with some purple dp from Kaisercraft, popped her onto a 3.5" x2.5" purple card to create an ATC. I coloured her with Promarkers and then I blew really hard across the thick end of a crimson promarker to create an airbrush blood splatter effect over the image! This is finished with some black pearls, a handwritten sentiment. It's also my effort for the new ATC swap over at the Ike's Art Facebook Fan Page if you want to join in!
And secondly, we have an Anything Goes Anniversary Celebration Challenge starting today at Left of Center - this is over and above our current Die Cuts challenge - and you are welcome to enter both with the same creation! Have a look at the rules page and check out our fabulous sponsors including the awesome Ike's Art!

Hearts and Harelquins for February at PunkyouGirl

Another wee post from me today! It's the start of a new challenge at PunkyouGirl and the theme for February is 'Hearts and Harlequins'. This month we are sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps and I have chosen the 'Emo Valentine Fairy' by Teresa Sherman of Delicious Doodles to work with.

We are low on team members just now for various reasons so I've created two inspiration cards for this post.... I did cheat a bit though! Being short on time, I coloured the image with promarkers and coated it in Triple Thick to give a glossy finish - its my favourite thing just now!! And rather than adhere permanently to one card, I used a couple of tiny foam pads (Candi Fix from Craftwork Cards) and I was able to peel the image off and try it out on my second card! I'm sure I'll do another image for the other card when I have the time!

So my first card uses a white with silver foiling card blank from Kanban that I dug out my stash and covered with Fired Brick and Black Soot distress ink using a foam blending tool. I added black pearlescent paper behind the aperture and more Triple Thick to the blackened heart from the centre. I have finally gotten hold of the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch which forms the border along the top and I've hand written the sentiment.
For my second card, I have a black 6x6 card with red and black core-dinations. The black square is embossed using a Tim Holtz valentine embossing folder and the red is embossed with the Sizzix Swiss Dots folder. I've wrapped some red raffia (left over from Christmas!) around the card with a large bow and added the image.
I am entering this card into this week's challenge at Delicious Doodles - Love (good or bad!) also -
Cute Card Thursday - Lots of Love
Crafty Sentiments Designs - Love is in the air
Little Red Wagon - #223 Love
Nutcrafters - #61 A Little Bit of Love
Paper Pretties - Wednesday Challenge Valentine/Love
Stampin Royalty Challenge - #213 All About Love
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge - #257 Red/Love
Just Inspirational Challenges - St Valentin/Love
Shopping Our Stash - #137 Love me Tender

I hope you can join us for Hearts and Harlequins at PunkyouGirl this month! Thanks for looking!

Steampunk Challenge at PunkyouGirl

Time for a new challenge at PunkyouGirl and this month's theme is Steampunk!
I have used the Steampunk Peg image by Rick St Dennis available at I Brake for Stamps.

I have coloured her up with Promarkers and gone with a turquoise and orange colour scheme to match my Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells 8x8 paper pad that I used for the background. I love this paper and haven't used much of it so thought I'd just get in there and start cutting! I've layered the elements with black pearlescent papers and die cut some cogs from the same paper. I finished with some black head pins and rolled roses with black Stickles for a sparkle.

Thanks for looking, I hope you'll join us for our dark themed, Steampunk challenge!

Midway reminder for PunkyouGirl Dark Christmas Challenge

We are enjoying a Black Christmas at PunkyouGirl this month and I have a little card for the midway reminder today. This month we are sponsored by Delicious Doodles with a chance to win some of Teri's awesome images for yourself!

This is a wee extra post from me this month and I didn't have time to colour a new Delicious Doodles image so I have used the Sandy Claws image from Rick St Dennis which you can find on his Zibbet store and I have made my own sentiment on Word. I took for my inspiration a Christmas song that used to terrify me as a child and I think this card sums it up! Whenever I would here the song 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' it always made me cry and I reckon is was those lyrics... 'He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake' - like he's always there, just round the corner, waiting!

I have used paper from My Minds Eye Vintage Christmas 6x6 paper pad and added some red ribbon and clear gems in the corners for some seasonal bling. There's Glossy Accents on his eyes and the layers have been torn and further distressed using Old Paper distress ink.

I hope I haven't freaked you out too much with this one! Merry Creepmas! I hope you'll join us at PunkyouGirl, there's still time to get your darker Christmas creations entered!

Dark Christmas at PunkyouGirl

Well, that's us a week into December and it's time for a new PunkyouGirl Dark Christmas themed challenge!

Now, PunkyouGirl is a 'Dark Themed' Challenge blog - think Goth, Emo, Horror, Fantasy, Steampunk, Grungy, Vampires etc - this is not an 'either/or' challenge - your entry must be dark themed AND fall in line with the additional monthly theme. So many participants last month didn't qualify for a prize and I hate to leave negativity when people have made an effort to enter the challenges!

So, anyway, this month is about Christmas - Black instead of White! - or perhaps Creepmas if you'd prefer! We have Delicious Doodles sponsoring us this month and they have released some amazing creepy Christmas themed images in the last few weeks but today I am using a 'classic'! Emo Christmas is my image and I have kept her dark and gothic looking with lots of black - lace, ribbon, pins and rolled roses. The papers I have used are from DoCrafts Gorjuss range - lots of dark reds, greens, blues and Gorjuss damask and lined patterns - I have used the burgandies with black pearlescent paper to mat.

It actually looks really bright in that sunlight but I promise its a darker card than it looks!
I hope you will join us this month and show us your dark Christmassy creations!

I will be entering this card into this week's Delicious Doodles Christmas Challenge! And the following challenges too -

Ladybug Crafts - Christmas/winter
Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Extra - Anything goes
2 Creative Chicks - Christmas/winter
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything goes
Scrap-Creations - Holiday
Ribbon Carousel - Anything goes

Midway Reminder for the PunkyouGirl Angels and Demons Challenge!

The November challenge at PunkyouGirl is well underway and here is my inspiration piece for the Midway reminder today on the blog. The theme this month is Angels and Demons.

I have used a Smeared Ink digi stamp from the Goth Fairies collection, her name is 'Honey' - I'm sure she's an angel!

I normally go with purples and black but have changed it up a bit this time round, I have kept some purple in there but gone with copper and brown tones in there too instead of lots of black. The papers are from Kaisercraft and the stamp has been coloured with promarkers. I felt the background of the stamp was very white so I've coloured this using my ink blending tool and both 'old paper' and 'vintage photo' distress inks from Tim Holtz at Ranger.

The rolled roses are using a Marianne Creatable chinese rose die and the same background papers. The sentiment is Craftwork Cards and I've finished it with a seambinding bow and some bling. There's also Star Dust stickles on her wings.

I hope you will show us your inner Dark Angel or Evil Demon and join our challenge this month, hope to see you there!

Halloween Challenge for PunkyouGirl

Wow! So many Halloween challenges out there this month - I love it!!! We have one starting today for you on PunkyouGirl and I'd love if you popped over for a look at the fabulous inspiration from Team A today.

We are sponsored this month by the fabulous Rick St Dennis MFA and he has let us loose on some of his digi stamps, I had the privilege of working with Countess Van Bloot and have gone with my favourite Purple and Black combo for this Halloween inspired card.

I have used a black die cut label from my stash and embossed it with a Sizzix spiderweb embossing folder. The skull damask paper is from Echo Park's The Apothecary Emporium paper pack and I've used my favourite purple and black pearlescent papers from my stash. The Mulberry paper flowers are from I am Roses and I've used some pins and seam binding ribbon too.

The image is coloured with Promarkers with some Star Dust Stickles to accent the dress. I also added some Dusty Concord distress ink around the edges of the damask paper.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

Punk You Girl Midway Reminder for Red and Black Challenge

We are bang in the middle of a fabulous challenge over at the PunkyouGirl Challenge Blog. The theme for September is Red and Black. Why not pop over and join the design team today for some more inspiration and get your entry in.

Here is my midway inspiration for you! I have used an image by Ike called Vaguely Goth. This was a Friday Freebie from the fabulous artist and if you pop over to her blog and become a follower you could find yourself with more fabulous art.

I have used free papers from Pixel Scrapper and matted them onto pearlescent black paper. The paper in the centre was actually a grey and white paper but I tinted it using Fired Brick distress ink and a blending tool to make it red.

I finished the card with some black organza, a seam binding bow and some black roses. The sentiments are from Craftwork Cards with more Fired Brick.

Thanks for looking and why not come and join in the fun at PunkyouGirl!

PunkyouGirl Challenge - Dark Humour

Its time for a new challenge over at PunkyouGirl! Can you believe we are into August already!!! Time flies when you are having fun that's for sure!

This month we are delighted to be sponsored by Teri at Delicious Doodles - her designs are fabulous, please stop by and take a look at the gorgeous digis available. I had the privilege of working with 'Cruel Cruella' Teri's take on Cruella deVille from 101 Dalmations and came up with this black and white spotty card.

I used some spotty paper from Craftwork Cards and black and white spotted satin ribbon from MeiFlower. I printed the sentiment on Word and some black and white card for layering. I have only minimally coloured the image - some grey promarkers on her hair and a few of the skin tone/accent colours on her face and arms and of course some poppy red for her lips.

I hope you like my project, please pop over to the Challenge and show us your Humerous Dark Side!
