This week's challenge at Crafting By Designs is 'A Stitch in Time' and we'd like to see some stitching on your project - real or faux, it's up to you. I have used an image from our sponsor Bugaboo stamps for my Halloween card today - the image is Silhouette Skull Tree.
I have added faux stitching with a black fine liner pen and paprika Stickles to the eyes of the skulls.
My paper is DCWV Eek-a-Boo stack, the die is a Tim Holtz Bigz Weathered Clock and I've finished with glittery ribbon, sentiment and card candi.
I hope you'll join in the challenge at CBD!

Ribbon Challenge at Crafting by Designs
Good morning! I am delighted to announce that I have rejoined the Crafting by Designs team and this is my first challenge back with the lovely Doris, Sharon and the team! I have missed them so and incredibly grateful that they were happy to have me back!
This week's challenge is 'Ribbons' and the sponsor for this one is Sami Stamps. I have used the 'My Favourite Pumpkin' image and have coloured this zombie girl with WHSmith blendable pencils adding some distress inks to the background.
This is a 6x6" card using papers from DCWV 6x6" Eek-a-Boo stack. The embellishment is Jolee's Boutique, the sentiment is from Create with TLC and the Halloween ribbons are from my stash.
Thanks for looking!
Great to be back!

31 DOH Day #31 - Halloween!! With LOC and Smeared Ink
Happy Halloween!!! Welcome to Day #31 of 31 Days of Halloween! Thank you for all the wonderful comments! You can find
the
blog roll in my side bar. Your first stop on the hop is Terra, you should have come to me from Lyneen, and your next stop is Rebecca. Remember to comment on all the blogs on
the hop for a chance to win at the end of the month and keep in mind the
Scavenger Hunt for daily prizes!
I hope you have all had a fabulous month whether blogging, hopping or lurking! I am so glad I took the plunge and blogged this year, already looking forward to 2015! Enjoy the final day folks! It's Halloween, it's Friday, it's Smeared Ink day and it's new challenge at LOC day too!! The theme at LOC is Vintage Halloween.
I have used the Hallocutie Zombie Girl for my card, she's coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut. My papers are from MME Lost & Found Halloween 6x6 paper pad and I've used lots of Vintage Photo and Black Soot DI for the edges. The sentiment is from Create with TLC. I've kept the card in those brown tones and distressed some edges for the 'vintage' bit of the challenge - but remember, at LOC, Halloween/Dark Theme is always OK if you dont 'do' vintage!
Enjoy the rest of your Halloween! Here are my youngest - Darth and Sonic - on their way to the nursery party!
Why not check out the LOC DT Call too - we're looking for several new DT and I am thrilled that some of the 31DOH Wicked bloggers have linked up! Click here for more info.

A Halloween Wall Hanging
Wow! I am on a roll and managed to get another Non-DT project done yesterday! Over at Left of Center we have a new sponsor joining us from next month, Spellbinding Stamps by Nikki Burnette - you can find her amazing artwork and digi stamps in her Etsy shop and join us over at her Facebook group to share your creations and maybe pick up a freebie!
I have used the Rylan digi stamp and coloured her with Promarkers and pencils - and added some sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella. My DP is Jillibean Soup from the 'Owloween Stew' papers and I've used a Tim Holtz embossing folder on some yellow core Core'dinations.
My embellishments are from my stash. The web was cut on the Cameo from a Silhouette store cut file - the view finder is a Sarah Hurley cut file from there too. The ribbon for hanging is also from deep in my stash and has bats and witches hats on!
I will be entering this in the following challenges:
Spellbinding Stamps - FB Contest September
Crafting from the Heart - #37 Anything Goes
The Crafty Bloggers Network - Anything Goes September
Creative Cutting Challenge - #39 Fall
Incy Wincy Designs - Anything Goes
My Craft Creations - Anything Goes

A Friendship Hop for Lisa
Welcome to my blog this morning! Today's post is a wee bit different. One of my very dearest crafty friends is in the hospital. She's had a run of ill health and incompetent doctors and been in and out of hospital for what seems like forever. Finally, she's got a great team helping her out and trying to get her better but she's still in the hospital, hooked up to IV's and monitors and being tested and poked and prodded so I thought she needed some cheering up!
So we have arranged a blog hop today! Lisa Tyrell is one of my girls at Left of Center and I have the immense pleasure of being on a few other design teams with her and we all miss her terribly! I sent out the smoke signals and got in touch with the ladies at Left of Center, A Step in the Dark, PunkyouGirl, Lelli-bot Crafts, The East Wind and Lisa's Facebook Group 'Mad Crafters Giggles' and told them my plan! There are some folks on holidays and unwell themselves who all send Lisa their love and best wishes. The rest are all listed here and will be posting projects on their blogs today for Lisa.
My card uses the RagDoll image from Dilly Beans coloured with Promarkers. The skull paper is from Pebbles inc, the 'LISA' letters are from the more recent Gorjuss A4 kit from DoCrafts, the purple pearlescent and blue metallic cards are from my stash. The skull border is a cut file for my new Silhouette Cameo!
I will enter it in the following challenges:
Dilly Beans - Skulls
Dilly Beans - Skulls
And here's the blogroll! You are here at Maureen and that's the start, Jackie is next - it would be great to see you all hopping around the fabulous creations from the rest of the ladies. If you're short on time, please visit Lisa's blog at the end of the list and leave her some love!

Skeletons and Secrets at PunkyouGirl
The PunkyouGirl challenge for July is 'Skeletons and Secrets' and I am here today with my midway project for the challenge! I have used an image from Rick St Dennis which you can find in his Zibbet Shop here! The image is called 'Smilin Joe Skull with Roses' and I have coloured him with Promarkers.
I created the background for the card using background stamps from the Smeared Ink 'Quoth the Raven' set, these were stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder. I then covered the card with Fired Brick, Faded Jeans, Vintage Photo and Black Soot distress inks creating a resist effect with the stamps.
I have added two Spellbinders die cut spiders. The top border is the 'Twigs' On the Edge die and the bottom border is the 'Graveyard' On the Edge die both from Tim Holtz for Sizzix. The card is finished with a black ribbon.
I will enter this in the following challenges:
Fairytale Challenge - #96 DigiStamp super challenge
Sister Act Card Challenge - #66 Anything Goes
Charisma Cardz Challenge - #15 Anything Goes

The brand new July Anything Goes challenge starts today at Crafting by Designs! As the title suggests - anything goes and we'd love to see what you create this month. There's no limit to the number of times you can enter so show us everything!
I have created a card today using the 'Full Moon' image from one of our sponsors - A Day For Daisies. The image is coloured with promarkers and edged with Mowed Lawn and Black Soot Distress Inks. I have used papers from the Bo Bunny Fright Delight 6x6 pad and metallic purple card candi from Craftwork Cards. The 'Happy Halloween' sticker is from Pebbles. The bats are punches from my stash and the 'Boo' is a Tim Holtz bigz die.
Thanks for looking! I cant wait to see what you create for Anything Goes this month!

Just for the sake of it!
Well, I've had a pretty good week this week! My Tickled Pink card won at Ike's Art and came in Top 3 at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and my Pearls and Bling card got Pick of The Week at The Stamping Chef! So I sat early this morning colouring, just for the sake of it! I found a fabulous sketch on 'Crafting When We Can' and made my image into a card.
I've used the Bella Broomstick image from The Stamping Chef (again!) and coloured her in black, white and orange to go with my 'Thirty One' paper pad from Pebbles. I've used orange and black pearlescent papers for matting and layering. And I've used a Crafts Too oval die to cut a mount for the image. The stars are a Joanna Sheen signature die - this is the first time I've tried layering the die cuts like that, i've seen it on a few cards recently and quite like the effect!
I will enter this card in the following challenges:
The Stamping Chef - #27 Anything Goes
Crafting When We Can - #68 Sketch
WeDoDoobadoo - #5 Lots of Layers
Dies R Us - #1 Anything Goes
Thanks for looking!

One of my favourite Holiday's of the year - Halloween! And Dilly Beans are celebrating 6 months till the next one this fortnight with a Halloween Challenge! I've layered up sheets of Bo Bunny Fright Delight designer papers with black pearlesent paper for the background and added die cuts for detail. I have used a Spellbinders web for the corner. Sketch Challenge #92 at Love To Create
Happy Monday Morning Folks! Another week closer to Christmas - less than 6 to go!! How scary is that!?
Anyway, to get you going today we have a Sketch Challenge at Love to Create and three amazing sponsors! I have had joy of working with Stamping Chef 'Speak no Evil' image - a Day of the Dead inspired Sassy and it was a great excuse to get some of my halloween papers back out, not that they ever really go away!
Here is the sketch if you want to play along!
I'm afraid when it comes to sketches... I am very much a 'exactly' type person! I try to add wee extras but pretty much the sketch is what you get! So here is my card. I've gone with a 6x6" square to change it up slightly! The image is coloured with promarkers and some Platinum Stickles. The sentiment and candi are Craftwork Cards and the papers are Echo Park's Apothecary Emporium.
Thanks for joining me this morning, why not pop over to Love to Create and see what the rest of the team have made for you today!

Altered Kids Board Book for Tsunami Rose Designs
Well folks, it's my turn to show you another project using the Tsunami Rose Designs 'Witches Brew' Printable Journal Kit. This is a Halloween themed kit with decorative papers, journalling pages and printable ephemera and sentiments. I absolutely love it and have decided to use it to alter a kids board book this week. I started with a small 3" sqaure book of nursery rhymes!
Each page was then covered with the papers - I have used Mod Podge to adhere the cheets to the book but I guess you could use your favourite adhesive or PVA glues. Once dry, I ran a craft knife around the edges to tidy them up and then sanded them down with sandpaper for a smooth finish and to get rid of raggedy rough edges.
I started fussy cutting a few of the images from the ephemera sheets, some sentiments and a a few of the tags ready to fit into the book. As its a board book there is not a lot of room for dimension, however, I've got a few bits of bling in there and the fact that the book does not close fully just gives a bit more character!
This is the cover and I have used hot glue to attach some ribbon to the outer edge at the front and back of the book. I used a vintage girl and pumpkin image with sentiment. I've also attached some head pins, roses and adhesive pearls to finish the front.
The first double page I have used some of the journalling pages with some 'Black Soot' distress ink around the edges. I added a sentiment to the left and used an image to make a pocket on the right side.
In the pocket is a double sided tag with sentiment and ribbon for pulling it out.
This is the next double page and you can see theback of the tag from the previous page. I used some Fired Brick distress ink on the edges here and some strips of orange diamantes along with some of the ephemera images from the kit. There is room here for a photo - my daughter is dressing up as a 'Zombie' Red Riding Hood this year and I figure that will go there!
The next double page is purely for adding some journalling. I have used the red journalling papers and added vinyl spiderweb stickers and strips of red diamantes here. More black and red distress ink around the edges here too.
The last double page I have adhered one of the larger images to some pearlescent orange paper and folded it down inside the page, the ribbon can be used to pull open the 'pop up' image. The right hand page uses one of the decorative papers with a 'happy halloween' vinyl sticker added.
Here is the pop up opened fully and the back of the tag from earlier.
This is the back of the book with a poison warning label and more of the lace.
Wow!! Very picture heavy but you had to see all the pages to get a look at all the fabulous bits from the kit!
I hope that you have liked seeing this project, I loved making it and am off to look around the charity stores for more of the mini books to alter!
Thanks for looking!

Creepy Halloween at Left of Centre Challenge Blog
Ooooh! It's almost Halloween, not long to go, I hope you have your costumes ready! Today we have a 'creepy halloween' challenge beginning at Left of Centre Challenge Blog and we are delighted to be sponsored by Rick St Dennis and his fabulous array of images.
I have chosen his rendition of the Silent Hill Nurse and kept my card pretty simple. Some designer papers from My Mind's Eye and Vintage Photo distress ink along with a seam binding bow and metal embellishment are all I've added. I reckon the image is pretty freaky without adding extra to the card.
I hope you will join us this week for a creepy halloween, enjoy the night when it comes!

Orange and Purple colour challenge at Crafting by Designs
That's us getting into the last week of October and the end of the Halloween projects, how sad! And today we have a fabulous colour challenge at Crafting by Designs - Orange and Purple. We also have a fabulous sponsor in the shape of Lacy Sunshine and I have been working with the gorgeous Myra Mains image.
She is a half dead girl with roses and I have coloured her with promarkers to show this - human skin colours on the right and very grey, undead looking on the left! The roses echo this comparison too. I have used Bo Bunny Fright Delight papers for the card. Also, orange and purple pearlescent papers for layering.
To finish I coloured a sentiment from Craftwork Cards to match the colour scheme and added pins, flowers and a bow... with a touch of stickles dotted about too!
Thanks for looking, I hope you will join us for this challenge!

A quick postie from me tonight, I did have a huge post earlier, but it was almost two weeks too early!!! So you'll be seeing that again on the 1st of November! Here I have an ATC. I have been looking online and facebook and at blogs as well as hopping with the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop and there is so much inspiration and I know I have seen someone use the label thingy recently but cannot think who, where or when! So if this is you, let me know!! And thank you for reminding me I had one!
I will enter this ATC into the following challenges -
Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge - Get Goth
Dilly Beans - Halloween
Pile It On - Halloween/Day of the Dead
Oldie But A Goodie Challenge: Spooky and Stash

Challenge #34 at Tsunami Rose Designs
It's time for a new challenge at Tsunami Rose Designs and this fortnight we have a Colour Challenge for you. Using reds, oranges, black - Halloweeny Colours! We are promoting the Witches' Brew Printable Journal Kit this month and the elements of my card are taken from that kit.
I have made a 5x7" card by covering it with one of the journal papers. I have used a spellbinders die to cut a Fleur de Lis square from another of the journal papers. The main focus of the card is one of the Journal title pictures with the witch and pumpkins on which I mounted on black pearlescent paper, raising it with 3D foam. I fussy cut some bats and a sentiment from the printable ephemera and made these dimensional too.
I added some black lace and a black bow along with some buttons and bling to finish the card. There is also some black soot distress ink around the edges of the card too.
Thanks for looking, I hope you will join us for the challenge - you do not have to use Tsunami Rose products and you could win a prize!

Calista Witch by Rick St Dennis
Oh dear the time is flying by so fast, there are just not enough hours in the day!
I had a chance to sit and colour so the first thing on my agenda was the Airless Chambers October Freebie - Calista the Witch by Rick St Dennis. This is available in both his Etsy and Zibbet shops and dont forget to sign up to his mailing list for future freebies!
I have coloured her with Promarkers and used BoBunny background papers as well as some purple pearlescent paper for matting. I've added Orange Peel Stickles, black self adhesive pearls and some funky orange witch's hat ribbon. I printed the sentiment and coloured with Marigold and Black Soot distress inks.
I will enter my card into the following challenges -
Airless Chambers - October Freebie Challenge
Digi Galore Challenges - Halloween
ABC challenges - Halloween
Incy Wincy Designs - Halloween
Lexi's Creations - Halloween
Parade Your Crafts - Halloween
Stamp and Create - October Challenge Fall/Halloween
The Crazy Challenge - Halloween
The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge - Halloween
Thanks for looking!
