WOYWW - What's on My Workdesk....

Um, I know Wednesday is almost over but just to show that even though i'm not feeling well, i've still been busy crafting away! Here is my (unusually) tidy workstation!

You might notice the twisted easel cards up on my paper tray unit and I was having a go at a double easel card this evening! Crayola colouring pen and hotwheels car courtesy of Callum! I tend to stack things high up with having 2 little people walking about now it can get a bit dangerous... for them and my stash!

I do have two shelves in a cupboard somewhere and i'm pretty sure my sister's drill is still here so I will endeavour to put them up sometime soon! I love my little drawers - the open one is for all the stuff that gets used all the time - glue, scissors, tape, pokey tool, glossy accents and the two drawers above are full of card candi!!

My unit was a computer desk in a previous life and the pull out shelf is handy for letting things dry on!
Look even closer and you might spot my funky purple Craftician tote and Cuttlebug hiding too!

You might then wonder why i'm posting this photo.... boredom is always a good answer to a blog, however,  I found someone asking me the very question - What's on Your Workdesk, Wednesday?! You can find it here - Stamping Ground.

Paper flowers to make me feel better...

Afternoon everyone, I'm not well! Spent the last few nights sneezing away and today have runny nose, sore throat and all the stuff that goes with it - have stocked up on painkillers and anti-inflammatories and i thought instead of feeling sorry for myself I will show you the cards i've made for the Craftwork Cards February Challenge.

The first two are twisted easel cards using paper flowers and the second two are Christmas cards also with paper flowers - i may be a wee bit addicted to making these beautiful blooms!! Most of these products can be found in the Craftwork Cards online shop.

This card is on 6" Square cardstock with an embossed frame from the Embossed Pad at CWC - i have coloured it with a Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Distress Ink Pad and felt blending tool. The blooms and Pink papers are from the Floral Fusion pad and i've included a couple of birthday messages and card candi to finish. Here's a close up of the front:

The next card is a 21st birthday card also using 6" square card stock and another white embossed frame. The papers and blooms are from the Sugarplum paper pad with wine organze ribbon, messages and candi to finish. The '21' charm is from Odyssey Craft Supplies.

And a close up of the flowers - i just adore sitting making these - its so therapuetic! Some have been sprayed with silver Sparkle and Spray for added glitteryness and Card Candi coated with Star Dust Stickles... yes, a card isn't complete without glitter and candi!

I was going to stop there, but here are the two Christmas cards that i made last night!

These are both made with the Craftwork Cards CandyCane Glittered Pad and some red organza ribbon. The first card uses a tag cut using the 'George and Basic Shapes' Cricut Cartridge.

This second card has blooms made with the Very Merry Festive Flowers and the whole card coated in Gold Spray and Sparkle.

I will leave it there for today - I have loads more to share with you but must go and rest.... Or at least try as there are two hyper toddlers running about!

Quick Card with my Cricut!

Well, I thought i would have an early night last night in preparation for this morning's early Zumba class.... I thought wrong! At around 10pm I learned that one of the stars of my Zumba class was having a birthday today - not just any birthday.... Bill - affectionately known as Zzzzuuuummmmba Bill, the male Diva - was turning 65 today!!! I just had to do him a card!

So, out came my trusty Cricut and the Craft Room, and I cut his name and age with the 'Storybook' Shadow font on some green Core'dinations... left overs from the Zombie Card a few days back!
Craftwork Cards Blossom papers, purple twine, buttons and a shiny shaped mat add to the simple look of this card. And, of course, some Star Dust Stickles on the letters finish the look!

I find it difficult to photograph the reflective surface! Will have to work on that, but i think this one came out ok - no dodgy reflection of me taking the photo!

I'm a winner....already!

Well.... over in the 'about me' intro section, i said something about entering blog competitions! Having dived into the world of craft blogs over the last few weeks I realised that there are a huge number of competitions going on at any one time and I figured - you've got to be in it to win it!
And I have won! Wow!

The Craftwork Cards Blog is one that i have been following for a few years now and I love their cards, papers, stamps and most of all I have a Card Candi addiction - no card is complete without glitter and Card Candi! The blog is full of ideas and hints and tips and the designers all have very different ideas of how to use the products which can be found on their shop website - Craftwork Cards.

The Blog is currently running a Monthly Card Challenge. January's theme was 'Let It Snow' and so i dug out my Winter Wonderland Goodie Bag and some die cut snowflakes and away I went! I did submit three cards but (thankfully!!!) the best of the three was the one chosen at random to win the prize for Jan!

This isn't the original photo - that was a bit dark so i took some new ones for today! You can see the entry on the Craftwork Cards blog here.

Here are a couple of close-ups so you can see the details! 'Let it Snow' was cur from a circular CWC message and I have Star Dust Stickles detail in the centre of each printed snowflake. I cut a section from the card and used die-cut snowflakes to hold it all together using strong glue to ensure the card doesn't fall apart! Lots of glitter and of course Card Candi complete the card.

My First Blog Post.... eeeek!

Ok, so i'm gonna have a go at this blogging malarky and see what happens!

Give me a few weeks to get organised and work out how the whole thing works.

I'm a crafter/cardmaker and will be posting photos of stuff i make on here for folks to see and make comments on. I'd love it if you let me know what you think.... dont be too negative... i might not stick around if no one likes it! :D

So, Call me Mo. And I'll show you what i make.

For my first attempt, i'll show you this one!
My good friend Jen asked me to make a 30th birthday card for her friend Nikki. She asked for the funky zombie she'd seen on another of my makes and said - black/purple/green.

So here it is - Cricut craft room exclusive Zombie girl, letters and number using the Cricut 'Storybook' font and the corners are using a Cuttlebug swirly embossing folder with skulls on it - I just cut out the bits i needed for the corners. The purple and green is core'dinations and i've sanded the skulls in the corners to stand out a bit. Start Dust Stickles to accent on the letters and numbers.... cos a card isn't finished without a bit of glitter!
