New Lucy Loo Release at The East Wind!

Well, I hope you will know by now, I love the Lucy Loo images at The East Wind! And today there is another brand new image being released by the artist Unky. The image is called Rose and you can find her in the Etsy shop here!
I have coloured her using my promarkers and distressed the background using Dusty Concord and Black Soot DI. The spotty paper is Kaisercraft and has been layered over purple pearlescent paper, the same has been die cut using a spellbinders die under the image. The sentiments and candi are Craftwork Cards, also coloured using Dusty Concord.
The flowers I have used are from Sweet Lilac and the lovely Linda Simpson from their Design Team was very kind to send me some samples to have a go with. The black blooms were left as they were as was the purple rose. I wanted to see how well they coloured, so the white cherry blossom and a few other flowers were sprayed with purple Dylusions spray and left to dry. The colours came out really well, I've layered them up to make bigger flowers and love how they look!

I will be entering this card into the following challenges -
Sweet Lilac Paper Flowers - Monochrome
The Corrosive Challenge - Banner Day
Challenge 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
613 Avenue Create - #71 Anything Goes
Crafting When We Can - #69 Die Cut Shape (Spellbinders die)

M is for Mom at Crafting by Designs

This week at Crafting by Designs we are celebrating US mother's day. Our sponsor for this is Delicious Doodles and if you join in you might be lucky enough to win a wee prize! Come and check out the blog for the team's inspirational projects!

I have used a Frame digi from Delicious Doodles and the sentiment was a freebie from them too. I've coloured this with Promarkers and fussy cut the frame, mounting it on a Spellbinder Fluer De Lis Frame. The papers are from a magazine freebie edged with Picked Raspberry DI with some white opal Liquid Pearls added too. The ribbon at the bottom was made with the same papers and my We R Memory Keepers Envelope punch board - the lovely Jackie Cornfield makes fabulous bows and directed me to YouTube for a tutorial! Thanks Jackie! The centre is a rolled rose tinted with the same DI.

Just for the sake of it!

Well, I've had a pretty good week this week! My Tickled Pink card won at Ike's Art and came in Top 3 at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and my Pearls and Bling card got Pick of The Week at The Stamping Chef! So I sat early this morning colouring, just for the sake of it! I found a fabulous sketch on 'Crafting When We Can' and made my image into a card.

I've used the Bella Broomstick image from The Stamping Chef (again!) and coloured her in black, white and orange to go with my 'Thirty One' paper pad from Pebbles. I've used orange and black pearlescent papers for matting and layering. And I've used a Crafts Too oval die to cut a mount for the image. The stars are a Joanna Sheen signature die - this is the first time I've tried layering the die cuts like that, i've seen it on a few cards recently and quite like the effect!

I will enter this card in the following challenges:
The Stamping Chef - #27 Anything Goes
Crafting When We Can - #68 Sketch
WeDoDoobadoo - #5 Lots of Layers
Dies R Us - #1 Anything Goes

Steampunk Image Release at The East Wind

The amazingly talented Unky at The East Wind is currently releasing new images every Friday and Monday and today I have the absolute joy of bringing you 'Lucy Loo Voyage II'! The fabulous Lucy in Steampunk gear! There are three options for this image - with her ride, without her ride or both!
I have used her on her own, coloured her with Promarkers and fussy cut her out. My card layout is taken from this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge and I've used my Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells papers. I've layered the DP with some black pearlescent paper and cut some of Tim Holtz large gears out of the same. I've finished the card with metallic gems on the cogs and faux stitching around the blue panels.
I will enter this card into the following challenges -
Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 - Sketch #217 + tic, tac, toe (Stitching, DP, Jewel)
The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog - #61 Steampunk - Honorable Mention!

Die Cuts & Punches Blog Challenge for The East Wind

Happy May! Wow, the year is going too fast! So much to do and so little time! We have a new Challenge starting for you today over at The East Wind. And it's the first of the month, so if you are on the mailing list, there's a freebie on it's way to you for this challenge! The Theme this time round is 'Die Cuts or Punches'.
I have coloured the freebie image in pastel colours using Promarkers. I added some Picked Raspberry DI around the edge and the sentiment too. The patterned papers were a magazine freebie and I have inked the edges of those too. The flowery one has been die cut at each side, using a Tim Holtz Bigz 'On the Edge' die - a notebook page at one side and torn paper at the other. I inked up a doily for behind the image and I've finished the card with a pearl spray and some die cut layered flowers from Craftwork Cards.
Unky has created a fabulous Image for this challenge and I hope to see you joining in and having a go!
I will enter my card in the following challenges -
I Heart Promarkers - Not Quite Straight

Paper Pretties - Mother's Day/Spring
Penny's Challenge - #175 Pastel Colours
