Skull Appreciation Day Bloghop 2015

Good morning Hoppers! If you are following the Blog Hop, you will have come to me from Harp's blog and you will be hopping off to Greece with Ike next. But first, here's what I've done for the hop today.
I got myself a set of very funky MDF skulls from the MDF Man at the SECC earlier this year and they have been sitting on a shelf awaiting a purpose.... I just knew that today would be that purpose. The skulls were a set of 7 and I have used 3 for today's post.
This first skull, the largest of the three, has been painted using a selection of Do Crafts Acrylic Paints and a brayer. Once the paint had dried I used some Dusty Concord Distress Ink and blending tool, applying the ink in random places through sequin waste and a Dutch Doobadoo Spiderweb stencil. I've then painted the raw edges with the black acrylic. I have stamped the edges of this skull using the Mini Grunge Flourish from Visible Image and the sentiment is from a magazine freebie by Sheena Douglas.
This next skull is slightly smaller. I used the paint that was on the brayer from the first skull to coat this one - it's ended up a dark maroony reddy colour! After this dried, I added white and black acrylic paint using bottle tops and the edge of a scrap peice of card. The raw edges were painted black. The edges were then stamped with the dotty side of the Visible Image Mini Grunge Flourish.
This skull is smaller again and I'm not happy with the outcome but will share it anyway and likely you will see it in a better project sometime later! I painted this white and sprayed some Crushed Grape Dylusions through the Dutch Doobadoo web stencil from earlier. I then decided I would try to make my own sugar skull!! I hand drew on a pattern with pencil and set about painting it with the Do Crafts Acrylics. I think it's the thick black lines around some parts I don't like.
Well, here they are altogether and I think the larger two will go on the wall. Once I change up the smaller one and the rest of the set I'll share the whole lot!
I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!
Have a great day!
Mo xxx
